Arboreal is a mixed-fermentation farmhouse ale fermented and aged in bourbon barrels. The name is a tribute to the woods surrounding our Newcastle brewery as well as the fact that this beer spends its entire life in American oak barrels before being packaged. Arboreal was the first beer in Oxbow's barrel-aged portfolio and continues to be a favorite among our brewers and long-time Oxbow supporters. It is amber in color with notes of oak, dark fruit, leather, and spice followed by a lingering acidity with a dry finish.
