A boat that was nearly too large for the Erie Canal was known as a "squeezer". This beer squeezes a lot of complex flavor into such an easy drinking beverage. We combine simple pilsner malt, kolsch yeast and substantial amounts of New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops at the end of the boil. We then sour the beer in the kettle with lactobacillus, then add more Nelson dry hops. The result is a beer with interesting white grape aroma and flavor that remains extremely refreshing due to the clean, tart finish.
