Chippewa Falls is home to some of the best-kept secrets. One of them is the Rumble Bridge located in the north end ravine of Irvine Park. This historic bridge was constructed in two phases in the early 1900s. It was originally known as the Bridge of Pines, a name that described its scenic surroundings.

The bridge deck was designed so the boards ran diagonally along its roadway, and only the alternating ends of every board were secured. Back when vehicles were allowed to cross the bridge, the loose ends caused a unique noise. Thus, the bridge was nicknamed "Rumble Bridge".
