The beer is very light, with an alcohol content by volume of 4.4% and heavily hopped. This beer gave rise to the beer type of pils, or very light lagers with a bitter and thirst-quenching taste. The name of the beer means "ancient source of Plzeň" or also "pils (ner) of the original source" in German. Pilsner is also the ethnic German of the city of Plzeň. With a bright golden color Pilsner Urquell is characterized by a fresh and pleasant aroma, characterized by notes of malt, floral and herbaceous scents, given by the Saaz-based hopping. Also on the palate we find the sensations of smell, we perceive sweet notes of malt well in balance with the more bitter notes of hops. Pleasantly bitter finish.
