It may not be the most obvious choice for a flagship beer, even in these fast-evolving times, but when Cheeky Monkey opened, it was a Belgian IPA that head brewer Red chose as the beer to hang his hat on. Then again, as someone who had spent 18 months at BrewDog, it was unlikely to be a kolsch... There are hints of the fruity, bubblegum like esters you'd expect from the Belgian yeast strain they use, but they play second fiddle to the tropical, grassy hops and solid bitterness caused by not one dose ···
