Munich has given birth to many styles of beer. They answered the Czech Pilsner with Hellesbier (less hoppy than Pils) and a darker version called Munich Dunkel (dunkel means dark in German). Dunkels are usually brewed with Pils malt, but with a generous dose of Munich malt and other specialty malts that deliver an intense toasty/plum/currant character.
It is Rich Amber in appearance. It starts with a clean, malty/caramel aroma. Notes of bread and plum give way to a light herbal hop flavor and a clean finish.
