Gooik village had four breweries. The best known today is "THE CAM" , the brewery of Trackless Barbary of Goycke, owned by the noble family of Gottignies. These gentlemen were only two generations in Gooik. Their brewery has today become the community 'THE CAM' and their arms were adopted by the merged municipality Gooik's oldest existing church weapon you can also find in the barn wall and above the front door of the house of tHE CAM. In THE CAM ' are still Geuzestekerij and folk instruments museum of European Klase .
