Eataly opens in Rome the greatest place in the world dedicated to the Italian excellent food. The name of Eataly is born from the merger of two words: EAT, ie 'eat' in English, and ITALY, Italy. Eataly in fact Eating Italian, but not only Italian food. That way typically nostrano of dining is the product of food production of the excellent Mediterranean cuisine, culture and culinary history of our country, of the 'repeatability' of many dishes of poor origins, the positive influences that Italian cuisine has received from other countries (just think of the origin of the American tomato or corn). The biggest goal of Eataly is to demonstrate how high quality products can be available to all: easily available at affordable prices, but not only. Eataly wants to communicate the faces, the production methods and the history of people and companies that make the 'high' foods that make up the best Italian food. The Eataly brand was created by bringing together a group of small companies working in different sectors enogastronomy: the famous durum wheat pasta from Gragnano Piedmontese egg pasta, the water of the Maritime Alps to Piedmont and Veneto wine, from the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente to beef Fassone race to meats and cheeses of the Italian tradition. Since its inception, with the opening of the first store in 2007 in Turin, Eataly brought the best of handicrafts at reasonable prices by creating a direct relationship between producer and distributor, and inspired by words like sustainability, responsibility and sharing.
