Rodenbach Brewery is the representative brewery of West Flanders mixed-fermentation red-brown beers. In 1821, the 4 Rodenbach brothers invested in a small brewery in Roeselare. In 1836, the brewery was bought by Pedro and his wife Regina Wauters, who expanded the brewery while he was in the army. She was assisted in this by her son Edward, who later took over the brewery. Eugene was the last Rodenbach to manage the brewery. At the instigation of Jan Toye, Brouwerij Rodenbach was taken over by Brouwerij Palm. Brouwerij Palm considers it as its cultural project to preserve this unique Belgian type of fermentation for future generations.
